New Delhi. India and Israel have created a sub-working group (SWG) on Defence Industrial Cooperation, it was accounted at a webinar here on September 24.
Its main objective will be transfer of technology, co-development and co-production, artificial intelligence, innovation and joint export to friendly foreign countries, a Defence Ministry statement said on Septmeber 25.
A MoU was also signed between Kalyani Group and Rafael Advanced Defence Systems during the webinar.
A Knowledge Paper by SIDM (Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers) and consulting group KPMG was released by Defence Secretary Ajay Kumar on the occasion.
Defence Secretaries and other senior MoD officials from both the countries participated in the webinar and spoke about enhancing the defence cooperation between both the nations.
Organized under the aegis of the Department of Defence Production through SIDM, more than 300 delegates attended the webinar, which also featured an Expo of 90 virtual exhibition stalls.
The webinar is the first in a series of to be organized with friendly foreign countries aimed at boosting defence exports to $5 billion in the next five years.
